{...early Breaking Dawn...tag Kele Pine...}
It had been a hell of a day; most days were with customers breathing down your neck about engines and parts. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Daylan had spent half the afternoon on the phone to a supplier in Port Angeles who was in the middle of going into liquidation; he was hoping they could snap some supplies on the cheap for the garage. Said supplier was holding out for other offers, but Day was hopeful that he’d get what he needed by the end of the week.
After locking up the garage Day jumped on his bike to head home, it was the still too early in the week to be wishing for Friday yet Friday is what he was hoping for. The weekend held boys stuff, Day and Nash were taking Travis into the woods for a boys retreat; sometimes life was so much less complicated without girls around. Just the three of them taking off for a weekend, he loved his ‘brother’ and nephew and loved the time the three of them could hang out together.
The rain that was a constant to La Push and the Olympic Peninsula had given up as Day rode his pride and joy home. It wasn’t the best bike in the world, but it was his and it was his work in progress. Over the past year Daylan had built it up from a scrap to the bike he was now riding, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Pulling up outside of the house he’d lived in since he was born Day swung his bike into the drive and kicked the stand down in front of the shack they called the garage. He knew his dad was probably already out at someone place or had headed to work, his dad was rarely home these days. Jogging up to the door he pushed it open dropping his helmet on the hall table as he kicked off his sneakers.
“Dad you home?” Day called out more out of the need to check then the expectation he would be home. There was a strange coat hanging on the hook at the bottom of the stairs, it wasn’t his or any girl he knew or his dad knew. It was definitely a girl’s coat. Who did he and his dad know that would wear a coat like that, it wasn’t a rez coat.
“Is someone here?” He called up the stairs wondering if his dad had got lucky or if maybe they had an unplanned guest.

Today had gone much better for Kele than she had expected when she got here. She came on what seemed like a hopeless mission to find her father. She had a couple bags that she left with, her ticket stub from her flight here, and a birth certificate as her only evidence. Luckily, it didn’t take much convincing to get the man she sought out, to accept that he was her father.
Kele hadn’t originally gone there intending to live there. She hadn’t quite thought out where she would stay, and didn’t exactly have any money, but she wasn’t there for freebies. She wanted to find him so that she could get to know the only family that she was still able to track down. After realizing what they were to each other, her father had insisted that she stay, not wanting his daughter to have to spend a night on the streets.
They had a little over an hour to talk before her father had to leave for work, leaving her alone in the house. He showed her what had been an extra guest room. It was a bit small, but it was better than nothing. She had a place to say. After thanking him and saying goodbye, she headed upstairs to what would be her room. She really didn’t know how long she would end up staying but wanted to give her father a chance if he’d let her. He had told her he didn’t even know she was born, so it wasn’t as if he had abandoned her…it was her mother who she spent 18 years with who had done that.
Kele was unpacking her bags, she didn’t have much but what she did she had started to hang up in the closet and put into drawers when she heard the door downstairs open. An unfamiliar voice called up. Her father had mentioned having a son, someone who was older than Kele, so she assumed the male voice must belong to him. Her older brother. It was strange enough meeting your father for the first time, now she just learned she had a brother and he was here too.
“Umm, up here” She called letting him know he wasn’t alone in the house. “Your dad said I could come up” She said starting to put down the bathing suit in her hand so she should could turn her attention to the other resident of the house.

The coat had Daylan totally confused, someone was in his house? A girl? He ran through his head who he knew who’d visit; Rayen? Matt? Emily? But none of them had or a coat like that, and why would they leave it? Or why would they stay? Day worried something had happened, if it was to the pack that would explain Emily’s visit almost, though why hadn’t Sam come? Or the other pack members? As for the other two girls’s Day was at a loss to explain their visit. A voice answered his call, and it wasn’t one Day knew. In fact the accent was totally different from the Rez or even Forks. Definitely a girl, the coat owner? “My dad?” Day asked and wondered out loud as he climbed the stairs. He took them two at a time out of curiosity, rather then anything else.
The Kele family home was small, like all the houses on the Rez, so it didn’t take long for Day to realize that the voice had to have come from the guest bedroom; box room. Day approached the room ready to speak, but was caught off guard by the feeling that washed over him. The girl was beautiful, mesmerizing. Daylan knew it instantly, as soon as he saw her, she was the girl he’d been waiting for with out knowing he was waiting.
Daylan knew the thoughts of the others when they’d imprinted and what they thought of their imprintees. This was it, the feeling her was experiencing, he was imprinting.
He was staring.
Quickly, and with reluctance, Day looked away from her face only to look to her hands and the small piece of fabric she was holding. “That’s a really nice bikini….erm erm I mean….Hey, hi…I’m Daylan.” He stammered getting red in the face and looking down at his socks complete with a hole in the left foot. Great, he was making an awesome impression.

Kele realized as soon as she called out that his dad had told her to come up, that soon she would be saying our, or calling him hers. She wasn’t to that point yet. She didn’t know him well enough to be acting that familiar around him. Plus she knew that their father hadn’t had a chance to talk to his son yet, and telling him by shouting it out wasn’t exactly how she wanted to introduce herself to the family.
As she heard the footsteps coming up the stairs, a thought quickly occurred to Kele. What if the son was angry she was there, or didn’t believe she actually had talked to his father. Maybe he’d think she was a trespasser. She looked around quickly wondering where she had stuffed the birth certificate after claiming Mr. Kele as her father. Young men could often be rash and act without thinking. He might not wait long enough to hear an explanation before throwing her out. It was what she feared most when coming to see her father.
Kele felt nervous as the footsteps neared, twisting the fabric in her hand as she turned towards the door. She wished she didn’t care what this family thought, that she didn’t need them, but she didn’t have anyone else to turn to. As he reached the doorway she stared at him in complete shock. The nervousness she felt turned to calmness even though she still had no idea what he would think of her or if she’d be allowed to stay. More than the calm, she couldn’t help but notice what an attractive man he was. She felt completely drawn to him. She found herself hoping that this was a neighbor, or a friend of the son’s.
Her cheeks immediately donned a blush of embarrassment as he commented on the bikini she was holding. Of all the clothes to be putting away in front of a completely hot man, that would be the one she’d be holding. She laughed feeling the nervousness return a little. “Umm, thanks” She said dropping it to the bed. She looked down embarrassed and noticed the hole in his socks. He was in socks, so he was making himself at home…he wasn’t just a friend. Why was she feeling like she was in…no she couldn’t even think the word, pushing it from her mind.
She looked back up at him as she heard his name. “Daylan, Hi…I’m Kele”

Daylan had never really given much thought to imprinting, he knew that not every wolf imprinted and he knew that it might not happen. He was ok with that. Like everything in Daylan’s he took everything in his stride and usually with a bright smile and smart comment. Daylan was happy playing the field and hanging with his best friend and other pack brothers. Imprinting wasn’t even a real thought.
That was until he came face to face with the girl unpacking in his spare room. She was everything, suddenly. Daylan felt everything in his very being shift, this girl he didn’t even know became his focus and center. Standing staring at her, which was all he could do, calmed him and sent his spirit soaring at the same time. It wasn’t just that she was beautiful, and she was, it was his soul recognizing its partner in her.
The bikini, he was staring at the scrap of bikini in her hands not to imagine her in it (He did for a split second) but more so he wouldn’t stare into her eyes. “Erm sorry.” He said trying to find somewhere else to look, but where? He didn’t want to look away form her completely, even looking at her hands relaxed and revved him. “Little cold here for bikinis, more like rain coats and scarves.” He said trying to find anything to fill the silence and hide the embarrassment he’d feel if it was anyone but his imprintee he was talking too.
His imprintee, Daylan had an imprintee. The very idea was making his mind race almost as much as her presence made his heart race.
Then she spoke again. “Kele?” He asked unable to believe this girl’s name was his last name. “That’s funny; my last name is Kele, Daylan Kele. In a total none James Bond way.” He laughed wondering how strange it was that his imprintee already shared his last name.

Kele realized that this man was staring at her, but she knew he had reason to be. She was invading his house. A stranger and as he could see one that was unpacking in their spare room. But surprisingly Kele didn’t mind his staring and it wasn’t just because she understood the reasons he would have to stare. She liked having him look at her. And she liked the way he was looking at her. It sent her heart aflutter.
She was realizing just how tall and muscular Daylan seemed. Her gaze trailed briefly to his arms, wondering what it would be like to be held by them, craving the feeling, though telling herself these were not the kinds of thoughts she should be thinking. He was her brother. The feeling sent a lump to the pit of her stomach. She shouldn’t have butterflies about her brother. She couldn’t. Why was she feeling so drawn to him. She tried to convince herself then that this wasn’t attraction she was feeling and that if it was love it was natural. She was supposed to love her brother. She had never had a sibling, so maybe she was supposed to feel this connection. Years of separation causing them now to feel so much stronger when united.
“Yeah…guess I should put this at the bottom of the drawer then” She commented as he mentioned it was too cold for bikinis.
She listened to his surprise at hearing her name and wondered how she would explain all of this to him. She did laugh when he made the James Bond joke. He really was cute. “Yeah…Kele’s sort of a family name for me too I guess. My last name’s Pine” She let him know. She was feeling nervous, scared of telling him who she was. She gave a nervous laugh. “Its really really nice to meet you”

Bottom draw? Daylan couldn’t believe he was thinking it but he’d actually like to see her in that bikini, he knew he could keep her warm. And he would. Day knew it was his purpose and desire in life to make her as comfortable as possible; he’d do anything for her now. “Well unless you hit one of the indoor pools in Port Angeles. I can show you sometime.” He offered, more out of a desire to be helpful then just to see her in a bikini, though that was a point. “We cliff dive…” He said trying to find something to show he liked water sports too. As soon as he said it he cursed himself, he knew it sounded show off or stupid, but it was true.
Her voice was like song to him, Day could listen to her read the phone book for the whole Olympic Peninsula and he doubted he’d ever get tired of it. “Well Kele Pine, its nice to meet you.” He held his hand out eager to make contact with her and see if the tingle was there that the others spoke of. Would she feel it too? Was she feeling something for him right then? He wanted to know everything right then. “So, what brings you to the Rez?” He asked feeling it more sensible to start with the smaller questions rather then ‘do I make you’re heart flutter?’
Whoever this girl was, she was amazing. Daylan couldn’t breath or look away from her. His whole being now revolved around this girl and he didn’t even know who she was. In the midst of all his thinking Day wondered if his dad was sick, was she a live in nurse? Carer? A maid? Not one of them did the Kele family really have money for, but day was trying to think. Whoever she was he didn’t ever want her to leave, even for a second.
“Sorry, I’m been nosey and staring and….sorry.” He stammered stepping back a little and bumping the door frame, his hand was still out stretched. Everything he said seemed wrong to Daylan, he felt more like an awkward preteen then a man who had just found his soul mate. Her name confused him too, how likely was it that a total stranger would have his last name; his family name? He wondered if she was some how distantly related, how distantly? Did her family know his? Parents? Grandparents? Daylan’s mind raced as fast as his heart as he tried to process it all without looking like a dear caught in headlights out on the old coast road.

Kele smiled a little as he offered to show her some of the indoor pools in Port Angeles. The idea of him taking her to show her around excited her much more than she knew it should. She should be happy that her brother was offering to be nice. But she wasn’t sure the offer would still be there after she explained everything. She was scared to. If he didn’t know, maybe he was also thinking the same way as she was right now. But she knew that was a horrible thought and kept trying to get it as far from her mind as possible.
“Cliff dive? That sounds dangerous” She said, not thinking it was a stupid activity, but just experiencing a wave of worry for him. She never wanted to see him hurt. The idea of him getting injured in a cliff dive scared her and sent chills through her.
“It’s nice to meet you too Daylan Kele” She told him, bringing her hand out and shaking his. His hand was so warm, uncommonly so, that it surprised her a bit, her hand flickering up to his eyes briefly then looking away. She didn’t want to pull back from the handshake either. The sensation that it produced affected every molecule of her body. It was as if feeling a gravitational pull to stay connected to him. But after a few more moments she knew keeping her hand in his would just seem unnatural so she reluctantly took her hand back.
She gave a nervous laugh as he mentioned what brought her to the Rez. “That’s kind of a long story...if you’ve got a minute we could sit and I’ll tell you all about it” She said, thinking sitting was a better idea. Her knees felt weak just looking at him and she was sure he was about to be shocked like his father had been. She motioned to the edge of the bed, feeling a bit awkward offering him a seat in his own house. This wasn’t her house, or even her room. She was just a guest. Blood related, but she didn’t feel like family. She wasn’t sure she ever would.
“You’re not being nosey, please its your every right. I’ve invaded your house, you deserve and explanation” She told him, watching him bump into the door frame. She looked to make sure he didn’t seem hurt by the bump, but it after seeing he looked fine she took a deep breath. “I came to Forks to find your father”

Was the pool too much? Daylan wondered if he was pushing it. Walking in on a girl holding a bikini then suggesting a visit to a pool he knew it come off as seeming perverted and voyeuristic. That wasn’t what he was trying to do, he just wanted to make her happy and if she wanted to go to swim then he would take her to the ends of the ear to find the perfect place.
“It’s more a stupid hobby.” Daylan shrugged, he and the other boys had been doing it so long it wasn’t something they feared more what they did for a rush. The cold certainly didn’t bother them. “I’m careful when I do it, don’t worry.” It was a funny sentiment asking someone he’d just met not to worry, but he knew if she felt and ounce of the imprinting feelings he did she would worry even slightly
The touch of her hand was so soft and gentle; Daylan made a point not to squeeze too hard knowing his strength was increased since his change. He wondered if she felt the heat of his body, even just touching his hand. He was hotter now, his temperature somewhere up in the low hundreds. Would she think the temperature was another sleaze sign? Regardless what she though Day didn’t want her to let go at all; ever. “Night to meet you too Kele Pine.” He nodded. His hand felt empty when she released her grip from it, colder somehow.
Long story? Instantly Daylan assumed she was already married, with someone, taken in some other way. “Sure. I’ve got all the time in the world. I’m done with work for the day.” Daylan told her his face looking at her intently. He did have plans, watching a game with Nash and Travis over at the Winters’ place, but all that could wait. Nash would understand one Day explain who Kele was to him. Whatever was planned, she took precedents now. Daylan looked at the bed and wondered if that was a respectful place to sit, on her bed in her room. Hers, all hers as he was now thinking of it.
After bumping into the door Daylan looked at her listening to her defend his idea that he was been nosey. Stepping into the room towards her Day stopped when she mention his father. “You came to find my dad? Well I’m guessing you met him when he invited you to stay. Was he helpful?” He asked assuming she his dad knew something, or could help her with something. “What did you need my dad for?” He was more confused then anything.

Kele hoped that she hadn’t insulted him by calling his pastime dangerous. She didn’t want him to think she was looking down on him for liking it. His calling it a stupid hobby made her worry that she had given him the wrong impression. But at the same time she did worry about him, even as he said he was careful. Even if he had done it a hundred times before, it still sounded like something he could get hurt doing. “I hope you are careful…I’d hate to see you get hurt”
Kele knew that a handshake was such a simple gesture. It didn’t mean much. You did it with any stranger the first time you met them, even those you’d never meet again. But the handshake with Daylan felt like so much more. The feeling of his strong, warm hand around hers excited her, sending tingles through her body. She wanted to feel those hands more. She wished she didn’t have to let go or risk looking like a crazy person. She already knew she’d sound like one soon enough as she tried to explain to him why she was here.
Kele smiled as he said her name. He loved the way he sounded saying it. It sounded so much better when he said it than when anyone else in her life had said it. She wished she could shake these feelings from her head. The butterflies, and excitement, was all something she didn’t need right now. Not about him.
“You sure? I don’t want to keep you from something…”Kele said looking down a bit nervously. She was stalling and she knew it. Why did she have so much of a harder time telling this guy than she did her own father? Because she hadn’t wanted to jump her father’s bones, that was one reason.
Kele watched as he started moving into the room but stopped as soon as she mentioned his father. She gave a small smile and nodded looking back up at him. “Yeah he was really helpful, I didn’t come here looking for a place to crash or anything, he practically insisted” She told him, not wanting him to think she was taking advantage of his father. “My mother sent me actually…you see..I was named after my father…”

Would she really worry if he was hurt? Did she care? Daylan knew the other imprintees worried about their wolves, just as the boys worried about their imprintees. Even standing here in the spare room of his own house Day was worried about Kele, about things that had happened before in her life and might happen in the future. “Don’t worry, I’ll be careful. Can’t have you worrying about me, huh?” He said with a smile and a wink. Her worrying about him, made him worry about her more; it was a vicious circle.
How long could he hold her hand before I became awkward? Daylan didn’t know, but he knew he didn’t want to let go. How could a handshake be so intense and intimate? Day knew how, he knew the minute he saw her that his life was now wrapped up in with hers, they were joined. Daylan understood imprinting to be like finding the end of your rainbow, finding the other end of the cord that attached you to your soul mate. Kele was his pot of gold and soul mate and every other cliché he’d ever heard about true love at first sight.
“You’re not keeping me from anything. I was going to watch a game with a buddy of mine, but he’ll understand. After work he’ll be glad to get home and crash with his son, don’t worry.” Daylan said knowing that as soon as he explained all this to Nash his best friend and pack brother would more then understand. “So let me, I’m all ears and all yours.” Day said worrying if the last line was a little much, he didn’t want to come off creepy.
Moving further into the room Day kept his eyes on her as she spoke. “Yea that’s my dad, ever the helpful guy, but try asking for help with manual labor and he’s the quickest man on the planet.” Day laughed joking at his father’s expense.
Her mother sent her? Family named and she was named after her father? Daylan searched his family tree in his mind looking for anyone she could have got her amazing, breath taking looks from. Nothing. “I don’t understand. You were named after your father? Kele, was your fathers name?” He stammered moving into the room and perching on the edge of the guest bed, now her bed. “Sorry I’m not following you, Kel.” He said shortening her name without realizing he’d done it, it felt natural. “Kele is a family name and you were named for your dad. Where does my dad fit in with it?” He said as his eye brows knitted together in confusion and he stared at her.

Kele smiled back as he told her he didn’t want her to have to worry about him. “Good, I’m glad you’ll be careful” She said, knowing she didn’t have a right to tell him he had to be careful when she barely knew him, but she hoped he would.
Kele felt a little guilty for having been keeping him from going to watch a game with his friend. She didn’t want him to leave, but she also didn’t want him to miss out on hanging out with a friend. “You sure you don’t mind missing the game? I mean I’ll still be here when you get back” She said, not really wanting to encourage him to leave so not saying anymore after that. She found herself grinning as she heard him say that he was all hers. If only that could be true. She let herself get caught up in the emotion of the moment, hearing him say that, before she knew she’d be ending her own happiness.
She laughed lightly at his joke about their father. She was finding it hard to keep things light when she knew what she was going to tell him. Before he came upstairs, she didn’t think she’d have this problem. But now her feelings were getting in the way. All she wanted to do was to have him hold her, something that would be impossible once this was said and done. She was disgusting and he would soon think so too if he knew her thoughts.
Kele watched his reaction to what she said. She thought he’d easily pick up on it. He had even commented earlier how her first name was his last name. She was sure what she said would be a way to ease the information to him, without overwhelming him by blurting it out. But she could see she needed to be a little more direct, as he wasn’t understanding what she was trying to tell him. She felt her heart flutter as he gave her a nickname already. She felt so close to him that this was painful telling him the truth, though she knew she should be happy. She was getting family.
“My mother moved back to Panama, and she told me to come find my father, a man I never met, but she told me I was named after him. Daylan…she used my father’s last name as my first name…”

Daylan felt his heart lift when she smiled, her happiness made him happy another fact he knew backed up the imprinting he knew was happening to him. Day almost wanted to laugh out loud, he knew they said your soul mate would find you, but he never thought for a moment she’d actually be unpacking in his spare room.
“Well we can’t have a pretty thing like you worrying about me.” Daylan said and instantly wanting to take back ever word. ‘Pretty thing’ he cursed himself for sounding like one of the elders of the rez. He knew he was supposed to woo the girl, and he knew that was not what he was doing. ‘I’m mean, I’ll be safe enough.” He wanted to take back how he’s complemented her, not the compliment he’d given her though she was more then pretty.
Been in same room as Kele Daylan had barely remembered that he was going to watch the game with Nash, Kele was filling his every thought. “Nah, I can catch the highlights later. And Nash wont mind, he’ll totally understand, he’s a good dude.” Day said with a shrug, Nash was his best friend and pack brother; he’d certainly understand. “I’d rather hang out with you. Can’t leave you alone on your first night here.” He smiled at her not wanting to leave and knowing full well he couldn’t, and wouldn’t.
He smiled as she laughed at his joke, he hoped she didn’t think he was been rude; she’d understand once she got to know his father he knew that. Politely he smiled back, trying not to laugh at his own lame joke and trying not to get caught up in her smile, laugh and her eyes. All those things kept pulling him in, when he moved towards her felt drawn to her as if her soul and his were reaching out for each other.
Daylan’s mind was reeling with her reasons for been there, he kept telling himself not to care and just be happy she was, but something was nagging at him. The way she was talking about her family, his family, and her reason for been there. He thought she was hinting at something, but the very thing was too much to put in thoughts let alone words. Day didn’t want to think about it he was thinking so he pushed it from his mind.
As her beautiful voice spoke more about her reason for been here it got hard not to think the thoughts already fighting their way forward again. He stared intently at her as she spoke, his eyes drifted to her lips and he wondered what it would be like to kiss them, but the more she spoke he realized it would be impossible. Daylan’s mind was working quickly putting all the points in order as she laid them out. Her name, his family name, her family, his father; slowly it was all falling into place. No sense, there couldn’t be sense or logic to all this.
“You mean my dad is your dad? Our dad?” The words stammered out as questions, not statements or accusations. She couldn’t be. She can’t be, Daylan’s head was screaming. How could he imprint on her if she was his sister, it didn’t make sense to him. “You can’t be, my dad never….I mean how? When?” Daylan looked away form her face, if she was his sister he couldn’t think the things he was thinking about her. Daylan glanced down at his knees, “Kele could your mom be wrong?” He asked stealing a glance at her.

Kele smiled shyly as she heard his compliment, calling her a pretty thing. It surprised her and she felt embarrassed for having felt such butterflies at having her own brother call her pretty. There was something wrong with her, she was sure of it. She wanted him to like her, and not just in a sibling way. He then quickly corrected himself for what he said, and she wondered if it was just a slip of the tongue. Maybe he just normally called any girl he saw that. “I hope that you are safe. More than just safe enough” She said, not thinking that statement sounded safe at all.
Kele nodded as Daylan explained to her how his friend wouldn’t mind him not showing up to watch the game. She smiled again as he said how he’d rather hang out with her, not wanting to leave her alone on his first night. “I appreciate that. I’d really like to hang out with you tonight too..get to know you better” She told him, wanting to get to know him in so many ways. As a brother and as a man she was falling head over heels for.
Kele still felt guilty for having kept him from his friend, and even more because she wasn’t selfless enough to insist he keep his plans and that she’d be here later for them to hang out. She would be here afterall, at least for now that was the plan. “Tell him to blame me for keeping you, don’t want him mad at you”
Kele squeezed her fingers of her opposite hand nervously in front of her as she watched Daylan slowly process what she had been trying to tell him about her name and her parentage, the reasons for her to be here. She didn’t know how he’d take the news, and it hurt even more knowing she was effectively ruining any chance at romance with him by establishing these lines. She was sick, she was sure.
Slowly Kele nodded her head as Daylan came to the realization that they shared the same father. “Yes, he’s our father” She confirmed. He looked shocked, something which she couldn’t blame him for at all. But as he said how she couldn’t be, she instinctively took a step back as if getting ready to be on the defensive. She watched as he could no longer even look at her, looking down at his knees again. She didn’t want to put him through this. She liked it better when she was just a stranger in his house, with a little bit of flirtations.
“I’m sorry Daylan, I know this is a shock…but I…I have the birth certificate if you don’t believe me.” She told him, glancing over to her bags, knowing it was in there somewhere, unless their father had kept it downstairs. She wished she remembered. “Your dad…our dad, he didn’t even know about me until today, my mom raised me away from the reservation”

Pretty was an understatement, Day found this girl breath taking he wanted to tell her that but didn’t her thinking her was some kind sort of weirdo declaring his feelings on the first meeting. Everything he’d learned about imprinting was screaming his feelings and rushing through his veins; intense love, absolute completeness and racing feeling at meeting his soul mate.
Daylan smiled as she told him to be more then safe, it wasn’t safe what he did but he knew he would be safe. Now though with her in his life he knew he would be more careful for fear of upsetting her. It felt right to him that suddenly all his feelings and concerns revolved around her. “Don’t worry about me, us rez boys are made from tough stuff.” He smiled.
She wanted to get to know him. Daylan knew a goofy smile must be plastered on his face no matter how cool he was trying to act, atleast he managed not to jump up and down expressing his excitement like Travis did so often. Nash was going to understand, Day was sure of it. Once he explained everything to his bro he knew he’d get it and forgive him for skipping out on the game. “Sure we can hang out, talk and get to know each other.” He said trying to wipe off the smile. “We can watch the game too.” He joked smiling then laughing assuming she wouldn’t be into football like most girls weren’t. He didn’t care her preference on sports, he was just teasing to put her at ease.
“Nash is cool, he’ll understand me standing him up for a pretty girl.” He smiled, but felt bad for understating her beauty again. “Besides Nash can watch it with Trav, that’s his little boy you’ll love him.” Daylan smiled thinking of his little nephew and growing excited about Kele meeting the little guy.
Daylan sat taking in what this beauty before him was saying, how could it be true? His sister? His dad had another child? He cheated on his mother? She was his sister? Daylan couldn’t take any of it in. If she was his sister then what he was feeling couldn’t be imprinting, how could he imprint on his sister? That wasn’t how it worked imprinting was for mating…Day let the thought sink in. He knew it was wrong, all of it. He knew this feeling he’d heard it in the thoughts of others in the pack and he knew that he’d imprinting. Kele had to be wrong, she couldn’t be his sister. That was what Daylan was going to hold on to no matter what she said or did. He knew he was in love with her and that couldn’t change, ever.
All he could do was look away it wasn’t because he hated her, or distrusted her. Looking away just gave him a moment to think without been distracted by her beauty and wanting to do more then look at her. It hurt not to look at her, but he needed a clear head. When he did look back up at her he could see sorrow in her eyes and it made his heart ache to see it. Day wanted to reach out to her to hold her and take away her pain. “Are you sure? Could it be another Kele guy?” Daylan asked hopefully. He didn’t think her a liar or fake, he just hoped she was wrong.
Listening to her apology hurt him, he knew he’d made her sad with his response to the news and he wanted to make her happy. His heart ached more for her pain. “No, no, its not that. Its just a shock, I don’t know.” He said honesty confused by it all his feelings and this news were so contradictory he was shocked. “Did she ever say anything about him? Maybe its another guy or just a…I don’t know Kele. I just can’t believe my dad cheated on my mom.” Daylan said shocked by that revelation more then anything.
