{...very early Breaking Dawn....tag Kele...}
The garage was empty, of people anyway now Nash had left for the day. Empty of cars was another thing, Daylan lent against the hood 99 Saab he’d been trying to retune, trying was the word. No matter how much he stared at the piston heads or the carburetor nothing made sense, his mind was elsewhere. He had to talk to Kele, it was time to be honest.
Honest to Daylan meant full disclosure. She had to know. Ever since she’d arrived he’s listened to her and his dad talk about family, siblings, similarities and recently DNA tests. Through it all Day had listened silently. He knew it wasn’t true, he knew he couldn’t imprint of his sister whatever a dumb birth certificate said. He’d tried to tell her, but now he had to tell her again and back it up.
Been a wolf was something he loved, the freedom, the pack, the difference and the imprinting. That total, unconditional love he felt completed him. He couldn’t face her not knowing what he felt. He couldn’t face her not believing his feelings and he hoped the truth he was going to reveal to her, and her only, would make it all fit into place for her too.
Pushing off the hood and moving around his bike, in pieces again, he headed to the phone and dialed his home. He knew his dad should still be at work, or at one of his buddies for a beer or a fish fry, hopefully Kele would be home. Home; that wasn’t a place he could say all this. Looking out the window as the phone rang he saw it was getting dark, but the days rain had stopped; he needed to do this outside. The beach that’s where he’s meet her and tell her everything. He turned his back to the wall and lent against it, closing his eyes as he waited for her to pick up.

Kele was alone in the house, both her father and Daylan were out at work. She hated just sitting around knowing knowing that they were both working hard, so today he was set on cleaning up a little bit. She was sure the place hadn't had a real thorough cleaning in a while. Guys never usually cared too much about that stuff.
She had just finished vaccuuming and was emptying out the bag into the trash when she heard the phone ring. She set it down and brushed some dust off of her hands before answering. "Kele residence" She answered, still afraid that some of their friends might hang up thinking they had the wrong number if they heard a woman answer with hello.

Daylan wondered what she was doing at home alone, in that moment he wished he’d just ran home to see her rather then call. Though this way he’d have time to flesh out his words before he confessed it all on some rushed unstructured blab. ‘I’m a werewolf and you’re my soul mate’ just didn’t sound like the best words to be yelling at her.
When the phone was answered Day felt his face break into a smile at her cheery greeting. “Hey Kele residence.” He smiled letting the laughter her felt fill his voice. He felt his heart reach for her even down the phone line, it was a closeness but not close enough. “I just got off, wanna meet me on the beach for a walk?” he asked trying to sound a lot more casual then he actually felt while his stomach was in knots

Kele laughed as she heard Daylan's voice greeting her as Kele Residence. She supposed she did deserve that one. Just hearing his voice on the phone was enough to make her smile. She knew she shouldnt be quite this happy about her brother's phone call, but the flutterings of her heart started up in her chest as she pictured him on the other end of the phoneline. "Hello, Daylan's work would it be?" She said, figuring that was where he was calling from. As far as she knew he was still at the garage with Nash. Her smile widened as she listened to him explain he was off of work and wanted to meet her on the beach for a walk. It was a nice day out but Kele wouldnt have cared if it was a blizzard, she'd still want to meet him if he invited her. "Yeah, sure that sounds great! I can be there in a few minutes if you want" She said hoping she didnt sound too overanxious, even if she was.

Even before he knew he was doing it Daylan felt himself join Kele’s laughter. He knew he’d been waiting all day to hear her voice, he just didn’t know how much it would effect him; every time he was surprised. “Well actually at the moment its my lack of work. The slave driver just left.” He smirked joking about his best friend and pack brother, even though Nash didn’t work him that hard; they pushed each other.
Though the weather was dry, for now, Daylan hoped she wouldn’t think it too cold or risky hanging out together and then not agree. When she did agree and arrange to meet in a few minutes he couldn’t stop his smile widening. He thanked the Rez for been small, meaning distance was always minutes not hours. “Sure, I’ll meet you where the path ends at the beach. Remember it?” He asked making sure they’d know the same place. Having grown up on the rez and with his wolf sense of direction everything was easy so if she picked somewhere else it’d be fine. “You might wanna wrap up too its still sorta cold, but looks like a great night. “ He said trying to take care of her.

Kele continued to laugh as Daylan mentioned about how his slave driver had just left so he had a lack of work. "Well lets hope he doesn't come back then and find you leaving early or chatting on the phone" She joked with him. It was easy to talk to Day. She figured that there was some sort of sibling connection there. A familiarness even if they had met late in life. Her other feelings however were certainly not sibling related, and she tried to right them off as him being an attractive guy, but that she had to train herself to remember he was off limits. He was her brother a thought that still seemed to twist at her heart.
Kele thought for a moment as Daylan described the area of the beach where he wanted to meet, making sure she knew where it was. "Yeah, I remember it" She said after a moment, sure she had the spot. She smiled as he suggested she wrapped up to keep from getting cold, thinking it was sweet of him to look out for her. "Thanks, I'll bring a sweater...do you want me to bring you something?" She asked, not sure he had a jacket with him when he left for work.

Daylan laughed with Kele as they joked around, even over the phone she had made his emotions run wild; as they always did with her. “Nah Nash ain’t the boss, I just let him think he is.” Daylan joked at his best friend’s expense, knowing it was really even footing. Day didn’t feel so nervous about his feelings for Kele, he knew she wasn’t his sister, but he knew she had reservations, he could feel it and that kept him worried about it all.
When he suggested the location they meet at he hoped she’d remember and smiled when she did. “Ok good, say about 10 minutes? There?” he asked casually even as his heart raced at seeing her in 10 minutes, it seemed like an eternity.
It might be cold outside, but Day knew he didn’t need a sweater or even the shirt he was wearing. His body temperature had risen since his changed, a fact he liked especially as he had a habit of losing jackets and sweaters. “No I’ll be fine, warm blooded and used to this weather.” He said casually knowing the first part was very true. “I’ll see you there. Be careful.” He said hanging the phone up and grabbing his keys before heading out the garage.

Kele laughed with Daylan as he joked about his friend Nash not being the boss. Kele wondered if either of them did have seniority over the other. They got along so well, in work and outside that she'd never guess if they did. She was glad that Day had a friend like that.
"Yeah, I can be there in 10" Kele agreed, knowing the spot wasn't very far from the house. She'd have enough time to go check her hair, grab a sweater and get there without (hopefully) making him wait too long.
"Okay, if you're sure..." Kele responded as Day said that he didnt need a jacket. She knew he was more used to this weather than she was. He never seemed to feel the chill in the air, not like she did. She smiled as he told her to be careful. "You too" She said though knowing he probably didnt have to watch out for much. "I'll see you soon" She said as she hung up and quickly put away the vaccuum downstairs before heading to her room.
She quickly opened up a drawer and grabbed the first sweater she found throwing it over her arm, deciding to carry it until she got chilly. She then looked in the mirror. She knew she shouldnt care what she looked like when seeing him, but she did. The feelings that she had for him made her want to be just as attractive to him as he was to her, even if it was wrong. She knew she was a a horrible person for encouraging it, but she still fixed a few stray strands before heading out the door. After a few minutes of walking she could see the spot where she was set to meet Day up ahead.

Daylan left the garage straight after the call, even without phasing getting to the meeting spot wouldn’t take too long for him. He needed the extra few minutes to figure out what he was actually going to say. There was still a chill in the air and he hoped a walk on the beach would be ok for Kele, he didn’t want her catching a chill. Day had on the t shirt he’d left the house wearing that morning, though now it was decorated with the occasional oil mark.
Reaching the spot Day lent against the fence post and waited. He felt her before he saw her, he knew she was getting close like he knew when the others were phased, it was an imprinting thing he was sure. Looking up the beach he watched her a few minutes thinking how beautiful she looked. Then when he could stand it no longer he pushed off and walked to meet her.
“Hey.” he smiled casually when he really wanted to reach out and touch her or pull her to him to hold her. “Thanks for meet me, I hope you’re not to cold.” he said reaching out to rubbed his hand down her arm.

As Kele got closer to the spot where Day had asked her to meet him, she could see him already there, waiting for her. She hoped she hadn't taken too long in getting here, hating to keep him waiting. She barely even noticed the coolness coming off the ocean as she got closer to him and felt an internal warmth.
"Hey, I was happy to get out of the house for a bit" She told him, not really minding if she were inside or out, just enjoying coming to meet him. She smiled as he again looked out for her wellbeing mentioning the cold, and reaching out to touch her arm. His hands were so warm that any chill that she did feel was forgotten by the heat coming from his hand. His touch was warm and comforting in many levels. "No, its not too chilly, and I brought a sweater just in case, like you suggested" She said motioning to it.

Reaching out to touch her, even in such a subtle way, made Day’s heart race. Any contact he got with her however fleeting was like a completion for his soul. “I’m glad you didn’t have other plans.” he said more formally then he’d normally speak, but he was having a hard time getting his words sorted to speak and certainly couldn’t be relaxed yet.
“I’m glad you took my advice. I’m used to the chill and after been in the shop all its nice to be out.” He said half honestly, knowing it was his wolf genes that stopped him feeling so cold. “It gets stuffy in there with all the fumes and all that.”
“I was thinking we could walk and talk.” And he slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her to walk with him.

"No plans, was just doing a little cleaning, hopefully I'm not too dusty" Kele said a little embarrassed, wondering if she should have taken a shower first. She was in such a rush to see Daylan again that she didnt even think about anything else. She was just happy to get the call from him that he wanted to spend more time with her.
"It was good advice, if we're here awhile I might need it later" She told him, nodding as she listened to him explain about it being hot and stuffy in the shop, working around all the fumes. "Yeah I guess that would get pretty hot in there"
"Sure" Kele agreed to his idea of walking and talking, she was surprised when he put his arm around her waist, but was happy to have the increased contact. "So what do you want to talk about? Need to vent about Nash? " She asked, wondering if something was on his mind already and he just needed someone to talk to.

Kele looked amazing, beautiful and breath taking not that Day could tell her all those things without coming off as a little obsessed. When she mentioned looking dusty he smiled, “You know you don’t have to clean for us, but thanks. And no you look great.” He smiled not really liking the word, but settling for that for the sake of trying to seem normal and natural. He could see she was a little embarrassed, something he didn’t want her to feel around him ever. He spoke gently, “Kele you look great, besides even if you were dusty the winds strong enough to clean it off. Maybe we should just leave the doors and windows open at home and blow out the dust?” he joked trying to get her to relax a little.
Daylan knew she’d need the coat, even if he couldn’t feel the chill he remembered what it was like. “Yea, but if you get too cold we can go home. I just wanted to be alone with you and tell you a few things before my dad got back and interrupted us.” Day could call him their dad when he knew it wasn’t true, it wasn’t that he didn’t want Kele as part of the family it was the exact opposite. Daylan wanted Kele to be a part of their family and in his life forever, he just couldn’t accept the sister part of that. This walk was to convince her he was right in his thinking that they couldn’t be related.
He smiled at the comment about the shop getting hot, it was true. The garage was hot and fume filled he was always glad to get out after a busy day, it was those days he relished been on patrol and running free. “Yea, I love my job but I wish it was more out doors then in. The places is old we probably need better ventilation.” He shrugged knowing the garage was at least as old as him if not more.
Resting his arm around her lower back he hoped she didn’t think it was to familiar, for him it certainly wasn’t enough. He felt as if he’d known her his whole existence and certainly couldn’t imagine ever been parted from her, Day just hoped this talk wouldn’t rip them apart. As she asked about Nash he laughed, “Nah I vent about him to him. We’re beyond offending each other.” He laughed again knowing there wasn’t anything he couldn’t tell his best friend even beefs about him. “Actually its about me and us. Its kinda a big deal and a secret that’s why we needed to be away from the house.” He said carefully trying to find the words to tell her such a secret.

"I know I dont have to" Kele said as Daylan expressed how she didnt have to clean for him and their dad. "But I want to. I mean you guys let me stay with you, and I'm not contributing to the bills right now, so the least I can do is try to keep the house looking nice when you boys get hme" She explained but then smiled as he said how she looked great. "Thanks" She said then laughed at his idea of just letting the winds blow the dust out of their house. "I think now I know how all that dirt got under the couch" She joked.
"I'll be fine" She assured him as he said how they could go home if she was cold. It worried her a little that he was so determined they be alone to talk before their father interrupted them. She didnt see how it could be a good thing, especially knowing the way she felt about him was so wrong. He must think so too and want to put an end to it all. "Yeah, sure we can talk, just you and me" She said, her voice wavering a little bit.
She let herself be distracted a bit as she listened to him talk about the shop. "You should have better ventilation, those fumes can't be healthy for you to be breathing in" She said worried about him. She didnt think he took good enough care of himself sometimes. At least not as good of care as he took of her, watching out even to make sure she didnt get a chill.
His arm around her, contradicted her feelings that Daylan was about to just tell her to stop the flirtations. Although she knew he could just be acting brotherly and she may be misinterpreting it yet again. She tried to calm her nerves but already she was building up an emotional wall, preparing herself for the worst. She was used to not being able to count on people, having them disappoint her, but she had let her guard down around Day, she had to be ready now. She took a deep breath, barely nodding at his joke about venting to Nash about him. As Day confirmed it was about them and a big deal she was sure this was it. "Okay...so tell me the big secret?"

She was very right she didn’t have to clean for them, if anything Kele was a house guest not a maid or live in housekeeper. If she was really family, by blood, like she thought she was, but Daylan knew she wasn’t, then of course there’d be chores, but not now for a very welcomed guest. “Dude you don’t need to help with cleaning or bills, its nice having you stay with us.” He told her avoiding the whole family line, knowing it wasn’t true in the sense she believed it to be. “As for the couches, don’t go moving them. If you really want to get under them, I’ll move them.” He smiled knowing moving the sofas in the house would be easy; been a wolf had it’s perks.
No matter how much she said she was fine Day would still worry about, it was ingrained into his very soul to care for her and take care of her. The minute she showed any signs of a chill he’d make her go home. “Well your call, but I’m watching.” He teased nudging her shoulder slightly in a gesture that could be that of a big brother, but he wanted it to show so much more.
Day heard the waver in her voice as she agreed to talking between the two of them, he didn’t want that. He wanted her to be calm and happy to talk with him, not worried what he might be going to say. “Its ok, nothing bad I promise.” He smiled. “I just want to talk and share some things. Only with you.” he said letting her know even before he spoke how big the secret was going to be.
“Nah its fine, trust me living with my dad or staying over at Nash’s I’ve breathed in worst.” He joked hoping she wouldn’t find it too gross or immature. He was glad she cared for him and it gave him hope for deeper feelings.
Big secret didn’t really cut it, this was huge and probably scary. Day remember how scared he’d been when it happened, sharing it opened up a whole different level of fear. “Actually it’s a huge secret and it has a lot to do with you and me.” he said seriously. Been serious wasn’t something that came easy to Daylan, but now he was really trying and hoping he’s should her how honest he was been in what he was going to say. Rubbing his free hand over his face Day sighed. “Ok I’m just going to be open and honest…I’m different and its that that I’m going to tell you all about, but Kele you can’t tell anyone not even my dad.”
