Elaine looked at him and smiled. "No that I don't not like being around you. The truth is that I just don't like going shopping and since you finally got me to get something other then black." Elaine laughed walking out the door. She was telling the truth.
"I will be fine wearing that suit every once in a while. Be happy with that." She leaned against his car. She was now ready to go home. It had been a while since she had done this and was glad that it was over.

Mike followed Elaine, carrying her bags like some assistant. It was still raining outside. "Suurree," he said jokingly. He quickly walked to the drivers side and unlocked the truck doors, tossing her bags into the back. He sat quickly and started the car, pulling on his seatbelt.
"You better wear it," he threatened with a smile. He waited for her to get into the car.

Elaine got into the car. She then laughed. "Okay I will think about it. Not sure when but I will wear it though." She looked out the window as the water fell from the window. Elaine was now worried that she had messed up in doing this. She did not want to get better.
"So I was wondering. What we going to do now. You want to go back to my house and drop me off. Or want to hang out still." Elaine liked hanging with him. She just wished that she could find someone else that wanted to help her as much as him.

"What do you mean you don't know when you'll wear it?" he asked, pulling out of the parking spot. He was careful to look in all the mirrors. He had once nearly hit a stray shopping cart because he hadn't paid attention. And with such a big truck, it could have caused a lot of damage. Not to mention what if had been a person and not a cart? Once safely pulled out of the spot he started the drive back toward Forks. "You better wear it tomorrow," he added.
"Well it's not really late yet," he said, "So I don't really care what we do." He didn't mind hanging out with Elaine. And he really didn't care where they went, his house, her house, his dad's store.

Elaine looked at him and laughed. She knew she was not wearing it tomorrow. She had work and that meant getting dirty that meant she was not dressing up in nice clothes to just get dirty and ruin. She then laughed hard she could see it now getting stain on the shirt that would not come out so that she could get rid of it. She had a plan.
"okay I will wear it tomorrow. I mean it not that hard to do if it will please you. So you know though if I do it might be the last time it gets worn just wanting to let you know." She was not going to tell him why but he had been warned she did her job. She was thinking about what to do when they got back to town. She knew she was getting hungry. "So how about you come into my house and I will get you some yummy food. I am actually a great cook if you don't know."

"Why would it be the last time?" his eyebrows arched and mashed together in confusion. Surely her wearing it one time wouldn't ruin the clothes. Then again, he wasn't sure exactly how messy Elaine could be. She didn't seem messy.
Mike continued the long drive back to Forks. His stomach growled at the mention of food. "Sure," he smiled, embarrassed, "Food sounds real good." Mike ate like a typical boy his age. Everything in site. His mother was amazed by how much he and his friends could consume in one night. They usually emptied the fridge of any left overs and whatever else was in it.

She laughed thinking about everything that could happen to the outfit while she was at work. "I work at a dinner. Once slip up and I could be wearing food all over the shirt. I am sure that it would stain to since I would not be able run back to the other rooms and change shirts so that this one goes in the wash right away." She was joking with him but it was funny when he was thinking about having her wear it tomorrow when she was having to work in a dinner getting dirty smelly.
She looked at him. She could not wait to get out of the car. "Fine that is great. Your hungry so when we get to my place I am going to fix you a great down town Texas meal. I'm great at fixing it so you better enjoy." She was thinking about what she had prepared to cook at the house.

"That's why you wear an apron or something," he told her, "But whatever. As long as you wear the clothes and they just don't sit there in your closet with the tags still on them." Mike was being a hypocrite. He had clothes that his grandmother had bought him a year ago still in his closet, tags on them, and untouched. No way was he going to wear the hideous Christmas sweater she got him last year. No way. He cringed just thinking about it.
"Alright. Sounds good," he said. Anything sounded good to him. "What exactly does you making a Texas meal mean?" he asked curiously.

"Mike I do where an apron but it would not cover my shirt. Beside why is it that Mike Newton a guy has become so interested in my clothing ware life." She looked over at him. She knew she really did not care since it was someone to talk to but she wished it did not mean she had to wear normal clothes.
"Well It is a little bit of every thing I do Mexican, can to Chinese, American as people call it, even a little French. " She knew that what her Texas was you ate any food and everything. "So when I get to the house I will look around and see what foods I have sort of already prepared and then I will cook the rest so you won't have to wait until like midnight to eat." She knew that it was possible she had did it before but just did not want to do it again.

"Just trying to help you," he told her, "Getting you out of the black clothes. I know you really can't like wearing the same color day in and day out." Mike couldn't see how someone could. But then again he's never fallen into a depression. And black was such a boring color, dark and scary.
"Alright, sounds good," he said as his stomach growled again. He couldn't believe how hungry he was now. Shopping must have taken a lot out of him. Whatever Elaine was going to cook, Mike was sure he'd enjoy it.

Elaine looked over at Mike and smiled. "Fine I won't wear black all the time. Just most. So you know your the slowest driver in the world. I could have already been home by now." She had to do something to get them off the topic of clothes. She like the ones she wore now. Elaine then started to giggle quietly when she heard Mikes stomach start to make noises. "you know another good thing is the fact that the faster you drive the quicker you will get to maybe have some food. Seeing as your stomach is like. 'help me someone. Please someone please help me.' " Elaine even at that moment was acting as if beggar wanting to get some food and help.

At Elaine's comment about his slow driving Mike slammed on the gas pedal causing the car to learch forward, forcing their backs against the seat. Mike let the truck speed forward a little while, but slowly let off the gas in fear of getting a ticket. Definitely the last thing he needed to do. He couldn't risk pissing his parents off like that. They'd kill him.
"Sorry I'm such a slow driver," he retorted, "Next time we'll let you drive your high speed sports car." Of course he was joking and said everything with a huge grin. Mike laughed as Elaine made an impression of his stomach reacting to his hunger. "Sorry, I'm trying to get to your place as fast as I can."

Elaine had smiled with Mike had speed up and then slowed down again. She thought this was pretty humorous. "well next time if we every go again. And I mean Ever we will drive my car. I don't want to have to go slow that time." Elaine joked with him. She was thinking about cooking.
"Oh I don't mind like I said your the hungry one. I'm not the one that has to worry about getting food in my stomach." She knew she would be getting hungry but at the moment she was not. She normally would eat about 5:30 and it was only 5 now.

It didn't seem to take that long to get to Forks as it did to get to Port Angeles, so before he knew it Mike was within the city limits and had to adjust his speed accordingly. He was sure the new, slower speed would evoke a smart alec response from Elaine.
"Who said I'm ever going driving with you again?" Mike joked, raising his pale eyebrows. Mike wouldn't mind taking a ride in her nice sports car. All the guys at school envied it, as did Mike. They had just pulled down Elaine's street, and Mike parked his Suburban in front her house and turned it off.
"Your dad won't mind if I'm here, will he?" Mike asked. He'd never met Elaine's dad, which was surprising since he knew most of the town's adults, so he wasn't sure how he'd react to his daughter bringing some strange boy home.

Elaine looked at him once he pulled into her driveway. She smiled once the car was stopped. "Fine I did not want to let you sit in my fine leather heated seats anyways. Most guys would be willing to even go shopping with a girl for that. " She turned around and grabbed her bags that she bought before going to get out of the car. She knew if she went in there now she could make some food and have it on a plate by 6. "Oh and Daddy won't care. He will get home about 7 from his workshop. So you will be fine. He I bet would actually like it. No one has been over here since I moved in but Angela. "
She then got out of the car and ran up to the door. She then started to dig around in her pockets to find the key to her house. *Man why did I have to wear the ones that had like 6 different pockets. * Finally after getting to the last one she pulled out her keys and unlocked the door. "It open when you get ready to come in." She has sat the clothes down next to the coat rack and then put her coat on it before walking the rest of the way in. The house looked as if it was never used and one that would be on a brochure some where the Furniture was all hand made pieces. Elaine walked into the kitchen and was looking in cabinets deciding what to cook for dinner. She realized that she had enough to do a Southwest Breakfast Quiche for dinner. She put all of the ingredients on the table waiting to see if Mike was coming in.
