Mike stepped out of his car and into the now drizzling rain. He turned and smirked at Elaine, "I didn't want to ride in your fancy, expensive car anyway." Of course it was a lie, but he wasn't going to let her know. Though she probably already knew, he was one of the many ogling over it in the school parking lot. Even now, as his blue eyes went over the length of the frame of the car he couldn't help but wish he had a car like that.
Mike shrugged his shoulders and followed Elaine up to her door. "Alright, if you don't think he'll mind," he said stepping through the front door. Elaine was already in the kitchen and he could hear her pulling things from the fridge and from various cabinets. He pulled of his jacket and set it on the coat rack beside Elaine's. He looked around the front room of the house, it looked really nice here. In fact, he noticed that it looked like no one lived here it was so clean.
He followed the noise Elaine was causing into the kitchen, he stood in the doorway and looked at all the ingredients. "So what are you makin'?" he asked.

Elaine looked up at him at she started to wash her hands in the water . She always had to have clean hands before she started to cook. "Oh well I thought that the easiest then would be to make a Southwest Breakfast Quiche. You should be happy that this is the first time I have actually made it for someone other then then family."
Elaine started to cut up onions and all the other things we needed. She then looked up at him as her eyes started to tear up from the oils of the onion. She smiled looking at him. She was wondering what to talk about now since she knew that he was fun to talk to. She put the food into a bowl before walking over to the sink and washing her hands again. She knew that you washed your hands after everything. She pulled a two bowls out then started to crack eggs into one then pouring it into the bowl. "So what are you normally doing. It has been a while since you talk to me. What do you do normally besides befriending complete strangers you meet one day."
She knew that he was sweet and she really wanted to get to know him more. She kept working quickly knowing that the faster she got it done the sooner it would be in oven and they could talk.

"Hm, sounds good," Mike said walking further into the kitchen. He pulled out a chair at the kitchen table and took a seat, watching Elaine prepare him a meal. He put his elbow up on the table and leaned his head against his hand.
Mike shrugged his shoulders when Elaine asked him what he did. "Well, other than making new friends, I work at my dad's store, like I said. And then I hang out with friends, we go down to La Push to First Beach sometimes for bonfires," he told her. The usual things that Forks teens did. "You should come with us sometime," he added.

Elaine had started to whisk the eggs because after that all she had to do after that was pour the meat and vegetables into that egg mixture. Elaine looked at him. "what type of store does your family own. Sorry I should know this by now seeing at well I leave here a while. I don't though and it might be helpful because I might need something from there."
Elaine then poured the meat in with the eggs and then smiled. "oh well I been down to La Push and the First Beach a few times. I went alone. See normally when I have time to go everyone else is at work of something so it just faster that way. Then the other way around when you're all going down there I have work or something else to do."
Elaine knew that all she had to do was pour it in the pie shell that she already had made up and put in the fridge. She turned and went to the fridge and grabbed the shell putting it on the table and pouring the mixture in it and putting it in the oven. She then sat down and looked at Mike "well okay now what we want to do. We have 30 minutes."

"They own a outdoor goods store," he told her, "Camping gear, hiking stuff, things like that." He couldn't really picture Elaine in their store. Then again, he couldn't picture his own mom in the store, and she was there often. In high-heels. He rolled his eyes at the thought.
"We'll have to plan it on a day you aren't at work," he shrugged. The only other thing her really ever had to do was go to work at his dad's store, but he could always arrange something else. His dad had Bella as an employee, he could always call her in to help.
"I have no idea," he said with a smirk, "I'm up for anything." Mike sat up, putting both his hands on his knees and looked at Elaine, waiting for her to decide what they were going to do. They could always just sit in talk, maybe go watch some TV. Mike truthfully didn't care.

Elaine looked at him. "Well I think that it would be cool. The next weekend that I have off is in about 4 weekends." She smiled as she then put some plates on the table. She was thinking about what to do but she never really had time to just sit around and play or do anything.
"well that fine I mean I have Battle Ship if you want me to go get it and bring it over here to play." She had loved that game but could not play it that often. The main reason for that was she never had anyone over to play with. Elaine looked at them and smiled. "I not played it in a while. Since no one comes over."

"Well, hopefully it's sunny the next weekend you have off," he told her, "Or that would just suck." He glanced out a nearby window, it was still raining. He hoped that for his sanity it would be sunny one day so they could get a group to go down to First Beach, it got nearly depressing having to be stuck in the rainy confines of Forks.
"Sure," he said, "That's fine with me." He hadn't played Battleship in days, well years more likely. He wondered if he could remember how to play it, he didn't recall it being that difficult to play.

Elaine looked at him and smiled. "Yes If it was raining when we went then what the point of going. I'm not getting in rainy water." She then left the room and went to a shelf she had put all her games on. She grabbed battleship and then walked back to the kitchen and started to put it on the table and take it out of the box. "Well it has been a while so I play. Sorry if I'm not that good." She was telling the truth. She had not played it for at least 3 years if not more.

"You don't have to go in the water," he shrugged, "If it was raining we could just hang out along the beach. But it's not all that fun, it's better if we go on one of the rare sunny days." He watched as she left the room, quickly returning the the board game in her hand. He didn't assist her as she took all the parts out of the box, but instead watched. He didn't want to get in the way.
"I haven't played in ages either," Mike laughed, "This ought to be interesting." He wondered if either of them would play the game right or if it would turn into a big hilarious mess between two teenagers that didn't know how to play a simple game like this.

She smiled and laughed when he said that he did not play this in a while. "This could get pretty funny then. I though for sure you would be the one that knew how to set it up. I guess I was wrong. I can figure it out." She started to try and read the instructions. She knew that she could figure the game out. It was just trying to do it and fast.
"So how we going to know if it is one of the rare days or not. I mean who really wants to go sit on a beach in the rain. You can't even keep a fire going." She then started to work on trying to set the game up.

Mike just watched as Elaine put the game together. He remembered it being simple, both to put together and play, but that was about it. He remembered being five years old and being able to put the game together. He laughed at the thought, pretty pathetic that neither of them knew how to play it now.
"Watch the weather channel," he suggested, shrugging his shoulders. That truly was the only way to be sure of how the weather was going to be, even then it sometimes was wrong. It was like gambling really.

Elaine read the instruction and finally got it put together. She then smiled and laughed. "Yes I got it together. " She then looked at the pieces. She then looked at the instructions again. "Now we need to figure out how to play it."
She looked at Mike as he talked about that weather. She then looked around the house. "Well you will have to do that for us I mean I don't have a TV here yet. Dad never home so he does not see the point of having one. We just listen to radio or look it up on internet. I could do that I guess now that you think about it."

Mike looked out the window as he waited for Elaine to get everything situated. He turned back as Elaine pulled out the instructions. "Don't we just set up out ships across our little things and then call out letters and numbers until we take down all the ships?" he asked. He wondered if Elaine understood any of his question, he wasn't even sure he did.
Mike chuckled. "You can find anything on the internet Elaine," he told her. "Including the weather."

Elaine looked at him as she was reading. "Well that what I think we do but I am not sure so guess what, We will just play it how we want to. If we want to make you have to be a monkey we can." She smile and then laughed. She split up the red and while tile so they both had some. She then stood up and grabbed herself glass. "Want something to drink." She was getting herself some water.
"Ya I know I could get the weather online. It just not sure I had thought about it. Thanks for the Idea." She then started to feel her glass up with water.

Mike laughed, "Let's see your best monkey impression." He laughed again just picturing it. Mike piled his colored tiles next to his board, he snagged the red ones for himself. Mike looked up at her as she walked further into the kitchen. Mike shook his head. "Nah, I'm fine," he answered.
"Anytime," he muttered to her as he set up his ships. He spaced them out across the board.
