Elaine looked at him as she went to take some of the red ones back she then looked at him. "I think I am suppose to have some of them too. You know when I blow up your ships. Red means hit." She then handed him some of the white pieces.
Elaine then walked over and checked the quiche and said it need more time. Then as a joke when she walked back over Elaine looked at Mike and put her hands to her ears and made a monkey face. "Ew, Ew, Ah, Ah." She was acting like one for him.

Mike laughed at himself as Elaine pulled away some of the red pieces he had claimed entirely. "Oh yeah," he laughed. It was now apparent how long it had been since he had played this game. He took the white pieces Elaine had handed him, mixing them with his pile of red ones. Mike wasn't big on organization.
Both pale blond brows of Mike's raised in shock, his jaw dropping, as Elaine gave him a monkey impression. He hadn't meant that comment literally, and was actually surprised that she had even done that. Looked like she was really coming out of her shell. Mike burst into laughter once the initial shock of what she had done passed. "Oh wow...." he commented once the laughter had ceased. "Nice."

She smiled. "well I am pretty good at being animals." She then sat down laughing. She used to work around the town doing odd jobs and some of them ment putting up with little kids. She started to put her little boat in the different spots. She had not remebered how to play but was going to fake it so that maybe he would not know.
"So lets see you want to go frist or me. I mean I don't care you can." She sat there thinking about which move she was going to do frist and how she was going to play the game. she was not wanting to leave.

"Clearly," he laughed again, recalling the monkey impression Elaine had so bravely showed him. He was surprised her cheeks weren't flushed a tomato red. That would have been the reaction he would have expected.
"Ladies first," Mike told her, gesturing his hand toward her. Though Mike's dominant intentions of letting her go first were of course because it was the gentlemanly thing to do, but a small part of him wanted her to go first so he could be reminded on how to play the game. He knew it wasn't that difficult of a game to play, and he could faintly recall the way you played it, but he wouldn't risk humiliating himself with his stupidity again.

Elaine smiled looking over at him. "well lets see. What about b1. " Elaine had not played this game in a while and it felt great to actually play with someone her own age though.
She then looked at him and waited for him to answer yes or no. Elaine then stood up and walked to the over and took the quiche out of the oven and set it down on the island for it to cool. "So give it 2 minutes to cool down then we can eat.

Glancing at his own game board as Elaine called out his first move he was glad when he found that that portion of the board did not contain one of his ships. Though it was close. He didn't let his face show how close she had actually come to hitting one of his ships as he called out, "Miss."
He felt kind of childish playing this simple children's game. But he didn't mind so much if it was what Elaine wanted to do. If he got too bored with it he'd suggest something else, but for now, this worked.
As he watched her stand up, he glanced around the house again. He was amazed by the cleanliness of it. Was it really necessary to keep a house this immaculate? Granted it was only her and her father living her and they didn't really make that much of a mess. But gee. "Do you just go around being cleaning the house all the time?" he teased as he turned back to look at the girl he had just befriended.
He inhaled as he watched her pull out the food she was making for him. It smelt delicious. He was up in one moment, and at the island of the kitchen in another, his stomach growling. "Are you sure we have to wait two minutes?" he complained. "I will eat it now...it looks so good. Even if it is extremely hot."

Elaine smiled at him. "Well you see I don't clean really all that much. The reason the house is aways so clean is it hard to get something dirty if you are not there" She walked to the cabinet and grabbed the plates down and turned putting them on the table. She then laughed thinking about what Mike had just asked her about the food.
"yes we have to wait. I don't want to take a change of having to take you ER for burns on your tongue. I would hate to have to explain it." Elaine started to cut the food though and put it on the plates. She then trying to make sure that he did not eat it before it was finished he pushed him the plate before she stood up getting the silver wear out of he drawer.
"You want some water or something now to drink with your food." Elaine figured he would but she did not want to just get it without her.

Mike nodded his head in agreement. "Well, I guess you've got a point there," he said. "But my house isn't nearly as clean as this and it's just my parents and myself and we really aren't home." He shrugged his shoulders, ending the subject of cleaning. He wasn't even sure why he had brought it up, definitely wasn't like him to talk about cleaning, of all things.
"You wouldn't need to bring me to the ER, I'd suffer the burns on my tongue. But I doubt it's that hot," he told her, his stomach continuing with annoying growls of hunger. He gladly took the plate she pushed to him, he waited as she got the silverware.
"No thanks," he replied, "Not thirsty." And it wasn't a lie, he wasn't thirsty, now.
