[Time Frame: End New Moon]
"You better wear it too," Mike threatened jokingly. He pulled into a parking spot in front of their final destination. The department store. Where they would shop. Mike cringed on the inside. He turned the car off quickly and opened his door. He stepped out into the rain, splashing into a puddle of water. He tucked his keys into his jacket pocket and walked to the front of the car, turning and waiting for Elaine to get out of the truck.
"Ready for this?" he asked in a tone that suggested that they were doing something highly dangerous and life threatening.

Elaine got out of the car and put a hood on. She then ran over to him and smiled. "Truth no. I will though that is if you make it fast and painless." She then took of for the store and hurried to get inside where it was warm. Once she was in there she turned and looked at him.
"okay now slow poke get in here now. If you don't we are leaving now." She knew that it would get him in. They had not drove all the way up here for nothing. She started to look around not sure what to get. She knew that it had to not be black. She knew that blue was her color mainly powder blue. "Okay I will wear it to school I promise. I am not sure what to get though. Remember it has been 3 years. So what do you think would look good."
Elaine then smiled a little. *Great I am now asking a guy for fashion tips what is wrong with me.*

"This being fast and painless is all up to you," he told her, "You're the one picking the clothes. And you better wear them. And I'm serious." Though his baby face did not appear serious, with its warm smile.
Mike hurried in the store after her. "Oh calm down," he laughed, "Did you know you're rather pushy?" Mike followed her around the racks of clothes. He didn't pay attention to anything though. "Ugh," he stuttered, "I have no idea. Just pick whatever you like." Mike really had no fashion sense, he just managed to pick clothes that matched every day. That was the extent of his fashion, well other than his hair needing to be styled.

Elaine looked at him. "I have heard I was pushy before your not the first one." She walked up and down the isles to looking at things. She then let out a moan. "this is going to be painfully. " She then sat down on a seat thinking. She knew that the only think she liked what the black things.
Elaine held her purse and walked over to Mike and smiled. "we better get going. You told me to get color that was not black. Then you tell me to pick what I like. The only things I like it that color so we will both fail on that. So instead of spending like 2 hours and walking out with nothing. I say we leave not and save the hassle. To me nothing looks good. "

"You should work on the pushiness," he laughed. He watched her pace up and down the isles and around the clothes racks. He thought she had said she was not one of those indecisive girls. It certainly seemed like she was taking a while, and she hadn't even picked up one thing.
"You haven't touched anything," he complained, "And we're not leaving. You have to get one thing. This is like rehab for you. Let start simple with one thing, at least, and then we'll slowly get you away from the black." Mike liked his analogy. "One outfit," he rephrased his initial ultimatum.

She looked at him and smiled. "well I can be even more push if you want. I mean I have not started to walk home yet in the rain have I." She knew that she would not get out of here with out something of color. She walked up and down them. She then looked at Mike and smiled.
"okay one outfit but it could still take a while. I really quick normally but you see the only color I like is black. So this rehab could take a whiled. " She then spotted a really cute powder blue shirt that was halter top. She did not want to wear it so she walked right by ignoring it. "It can't find nothing this is hard."

"You wouldn't though," Mike told her, still following her like some puppy dog. He couldn't imagine Elaine walking te monsoon like rains outside.
There were a lot of clothes here and he found it hard that she couldn't at least find something. Mike cringed as he realized he was going to have to force the idea of colored clothes down this girl's throat. And that meant picking something out and suggesting stuff.
"Alright," he said unamused by her stalling, "What's your favorite color? That's simple. We'll start there. And then there are always jeans. You can't really go wrong there." He couldn't believe he was giving this girl fashion advice, if any of the guys at school found out about this....

Elaine smiled."Well ya I guess you are right. I would not talk home from here. It might though after this." She was walking around she knew he would hate what she was about to say but she would not lie to him. Not after everything he had told her.
"Well hum. Black. So we have a problem right. No other colors really look appealing to me anymore. So you see I don't go shopping what color you think would looked good. I will make you a deal. You pick the top and I will get both a blue jean skirt and blue jean pants to match. Maybe even a jacket." She knew this would be the quickest way to do this.

Mike couldn't help but laugh. "You are so difficult." He couldn't believe he was doing this, and he kept telling himself that in his head. Definitely one of the worst ideas he's had yet. He didn't mind being around Elaine, but shopping. What was he thinking? Obviously he wasn't.
He trekked his way among the many racks of girl's junior clothes. Looking for anything really. He paused at a rack of simple v-neck collared tees.
"What size do you even wear?" he asked. There were several different sizes; x-small, small, medium, large, x-large. He looked at Elaine, she definitely wasn't anywhere near a large or extra large, so he singled out a x-small, small, and medium shirt on the rack, planning to snatch up her size immediately and move on.

She laughed. She could not believe that she had a guy doing this. She thought she might play around with him a little. It would if anything brighten her mood if it brought hers down. "well what size you think I wear. If you can't figure that out I might have to be worried. Since most guys can reasonable guess the size I girl will wear."
She then turned around and walked away from him to get a like medium blue pair of jeans and a skirt that matched that to. She thought this was funnier making him sweat it out. Since she knew this was not any fun for her either. She was walking up and down the jacket isle looking for one that was the same color as her jeans and skirt once she found one it had been about 10 minutes. She then walked back over to Mike and handed it to him. "here I did my fair share I found a pair of pant, skirt, and jacket you get to find the shirt." She knew she had found a pair of heals to match them to if he wanted to go that detailed into it. If not she would buy them herself. Along with the purse. She had a ear ring, necklace, and bracelet set that would look good with all of this at home. Jason had got it for her for their first Christmas they were diamond. "so you find something yet.

Mike's jaw dropped. He could not believe she was doing this to him. He would have to make a note to never take another girl shopping. This was torture. Pure torture. He watched as she walked away. Leaving him there to gape at the clothes racks. Oh she is so difficult...he thought to himself.
After staring at the shirts for a minute he decided one a medium. He shrugged his shoulder, unsure if it was the right size, but as of right now he didn't care. Mike just needed to get away from the clothes. He decided against the pink collared tees and spun around to find a rack of purple graphic tees. Mike grabbed the nearest medium, unsure of what was really on the tee, it looked like some jumbled, sparkly, graphic deal. He didn't care.
He held the shirt out to her as she finally returned. "Yeah, here," he said handing her the shirt, "I hope you're a medium. If not, go pick out your appropriate size."

Elaine laughed at him. "no I am a small and I would never wear a shirt with a bat on it. You need to look closer when you pick something out." She put the shirt back quickly then smiled. She had not picked that blue shirt she saw earlier because it was a 25 dollar shirt she had decided that she would get it now though since he told her to pick something she would pretend like it was the first thing she grabbed. She held it up to herself as she got it.
"Okay now Mike what do you think about this one. It is simple yet elegant and well the other detail that is a good one is that is is in the right size. It not going to be huge one me." She was now back over at him and handed him the shirt. She knew she had done the trick she could wear it once and go back to all black and he would never go shopping with her again. that was the only thing she was trying to win at. "So what you want me to pay for."

Mike shrugged his shoulders. "You told me to pick something out and I did," he said, "Next time I guess you'll pick it out." Ha! Like there'll be a next time....
"It's nice," he stated simply, taking the shirt from her hands as she handed it to him. Mike turned and walked in the direction of the registers. Time to get out of the store. Finally. "I didn't bring my parent's money just because. So yes, I will buy you your clothes. Only if you make another agreement with me," he said with a sinister smile.
He paused in the aisle and turned to look at her. "You have to wear these at least once a week," he told her, "And trust me, I'll know."

She this could be a problem. She could not wear it onces a weak. She ran her hand through her hair. "No deal. I will make a deal with you though that I will wear it once every two weeks. That or nothing."
She stood there. She could fight him on this for a while. She knew it would work better. "So how about you hurry up and buy the things. I am ready to go." Elaine knew the best thing would be to get him to hurry before she had time to think about things.

"Hmph," Mike groaned. He turned and walked on toward the registers. He sat the shirt down on the counter and turned to Elaine. "Fine," he told her in defeat. He would eventually get her to wear the clothes more often. But for now, at least she would be out of the black every once in a while.
"Why are you in such a rush to leave?" he asked, folding his arms across his chest as the cashier rung up the clothes. "Don't like being around me?" he accused, his face falling in mock sadness. He was just messing around with her.
