(Timeframe: Early Twilight)
It was just another normal day at Forks High school today. Tomorrow it was going to be sunny, so we wouldn't be able to go tomorrow. I sighed. "Stupid sun," I muttered. Well, at least we could go today. The sun restricted us too much. I sat in the cafeteria today, and I was in an OK mood at the moment. Something was annoying me, but I didn't know what it was. I looked out the window, to the cloud filled sky. I only liked the sun when it was shining on the weekend. It annoyed me when it shined during the week, because school was something to do. It made me happy sometimes. Probably because I had most of my classes with Jasper, and a few with Edward. I enjoyed talking to them, instead of moping around the house doing nothing. And maybe another reason why I was feeling bad was because I was thirsty. We all were today.

((OOC: Please post in the third person - "Alice did this" instead of "I did this" - Thanks!))
Edward was staring at their untouched 'food' on the table. It wasnt really their food, just their props at the moment. His mind was already imagining their next few days away from school. Hopefully one of those days would include some hunting. They all needed it right now, especially Jasper.
Edward lifted his head as he heard Alice's voice. He had to look for a moment at her expression to decide whether or not she was addressing him in her thoughts or voicing an opinion allowed. She didnt seem to be specifically adressing her thoughts of the sun at him, so he assumed she spoke the words.
"Not as bad as the night" Edward commented. He didnt like the darkness of the night, it was too predictable. At least the sun came at more unexpected intervals. When night arrived, everyone around them slept. It was the daily reminder for Edward of how different they were.

The new girl walked into the school cafeteria, her head bent low as she picked up a green plastic tray at the end of lunch queue. She couldn't believe this was only lunch! The day was lasting forever, and she was fairly sure that Charlie had posted some kind of announcement of her arrival, the way that the kids had reacted to her that morning - 'Isabella' this, 'You're Isabella Swan' that - the only reason she could come up with for her sudden popularity was that perhaps being the chief of police's daughter was a big deal to these small-town people.
She flicked her chocolate brown eyes down the lunch line, peering through the curtain of brown hair that she kept between herself and her classmates. She noted how the others steered clear of the strange sticky looking meat in sauce and plumped for the safe option of chips, or a salad for some of the more health conscious. Bella bit her lip and extended her pale hand out to take an apple from the cold box in front of her - the stress of this first day had really knocked her appetite, but no doubt she could feed herself well enough at Charlie's later. She then followed the girl in front of her across the cafeteria, not entirely sure of where she should sit - were the cliques here? Would it drastically alter her existence for the next two years if she accidentally sat at the wrong table? Somehow she doubted it, she figured that once all the undue attention had died down, then she would just fade into the background, where she had lived in Phoenix.
She gasped sharply as she managed to somehow trip over her own feet for the millionth time that day. Colour stole up her cheeks, tinting her translucent skin as she jerked forward to save her apple from rolling right off the other side of her tray. She did manage to save it. Just. And with no amount of grace. None. She cringed inwardly and plumped to sit at the end of the table she was stood next to, unintentionally placing herself among a varied group of people, a few girls and guys she had classes with. However, her embarrassment was still too hot to expose herself to these potential friends and so she placed that useful curtain of hair between them as she bit into her apple.
Slowly, as the colour began to recede from her cheeks, she began to scan the room, wondering if she had already met most of the people from this small school. However, on their very first sweep, her eyes stuck on a pair of extraordinarily beautiful individuals. She tried to move her head away to break the gaze, but it only seemed to make her stare even harder. How had she not noticed them before?
"Who are they?" she whispered to herself.

Angela Weber had gotten her food that day like any other. She sat at her usual table, with the usual people, with one addition. The new girl Isabella, or Bella as Mike had told her she had corrected him, had chosen to sit with them. The whole school seemed obsessed with her today. Angela felt a little bad for Bella, knowing if it was her, she wouldn't want that much attention. This was the reason she had been so hesitant to try to talk to her before. She didnt want to seem like all the others trying to butt into her life.
Angela glanced over at Bella, making sure she was alright. She saw the direction her head was in, and followed her gaze to the Cullen table. Everyone's fascinated with them at some point. She thought to herself, not in a mean way but more understanding. It seemed like the perfect family. The siblings were so close. She could only hope that when her brothers grew up that she'd still be that close to them.
"They have good genes don't they?" She said softly with a small smile, hoping she wasn't interrupting Bella's thoughts. Everyone in the school knew how beautiful the family was. Some students thought they were weird too, but Angela didnt think anyone was weird or strange, just different, and that wasn't a bad thing.

Though she heard what her brother and sister had just said, Rosalie remained motionless. Just seconds before she had noticed her reflection from the reflective surface of someone's glasses as they walked by. For a split second, she wondered what she would look like with shorter hair. Never would she consider something as short as Alice's, but then she realized that any other consideration was unnecessary. Her hair was perfect as it was, as always. She pitied the little girls in Forks High School that tortured their hair with a wide range of chemical treatments and discolorations to make themselves look better.
Remembering that perhaps she should move, even if slightly just to appear human, she turned her head just a bit to face Edward and Alice a bit, considering their short exchange. She was actually glad for the approaching sun. Not only was it opportunity to hunt (especially since they all were in desperate need of it), but also to have a day or two away from the mundane humans that lived in their town. Besides, the effect of the sun against her skin always made her feel more than extra ordinary, and she loved the extra glint in Emmett's eyes when they stood under unmasked rays of sun. "How many days will the sun last?" she asked just as quietly as the other two. She wondered if it was long enough to take her convertible and go somewhere a bit further and take a long weekend with Emmett.

Bella's head snapped away from the Cullens' table as she was suddenly addressed from her side. She blushed as the cup of water she had sloshed over her hand a little and glanced up at Angela Weber, surprised to hear a voice that she didn't recognise - she had thought that she had spoken to everyone at this table at least once during the morning. Then again, it had been Jessica and Mike that had dominated her day so far, with occasional contributions from an unfortunate looking boy named Eric. Well, that accounted for about all the names she remembered, anyway. It was Angela's quiet, calm demeanor that really peaked Bella's attention, though even this reflection of her own personality was not enough to sway her attention from the Cullen table for long. Her eyes slid from the ordinary face of Angela to the extraordinary and similar beauty of the distant group.
"They're all brothers and sisters?" she asked, her round eyes not flinching as she held the Cullens captive in her gaze.
They all certainly looked like brothers and sisters, with the same pale skin and perfect sculpted features, but then they were actually quite diverse in other ways... But then she wasn't some gene pool expert, besides, maybe they were cousins. She glanced from one to the other, allowing herself to bask, unseen, in their glory. Now that Angela had commented upon their gene pool she felt less guilty for blatantly staring, clearly the rest of the school looked at them in the same way. Except they weren't, maybe they were too used to the presence of their strange beauty. Finally she managed to tear her eyes off the boy's figure, his chiseled features and perfect expression, where she had been stuck for a good while, and was met with Rosalie's perfect appearance. The sheer perfection made her blush just to see - how awkward and terribly plain was she, Bella? Her looks had never bothered her before, she was happy enough in old slacks and frumpy jumpers and she had no patience for makeup, but still, what it would be to be that radiant!
She abruptly look back to Angela, suddenly aware that she was probably being very rude.
"Sorry," she uttered, attempting to ignore the strange pulling sensation that was coming from the other table. She smiled at Angela, a close-lipped, yet sincere smile. "I'm Bella, Bella Swan."
She knew that the other girl probably knew that already, everyone else seemed to, and she only hoped that they hadn't been introduced earlier.

Angela saw Bella's attention snap toward her. She immediately wondered if it was a mistake saying anything. She didn't want to be bothering the new girl when she had so many other people throughout the day that she was sure were interrogating her. But at the same time she did want her to feel welcome. When Bella asked her a question about the Cullens she decided maybe she hadnt made a mistake.
"Sort of...they're adopted, or foster children or something...The two blonds are actually twins, I think" Angela said, watching Bella stare at them.
Angela smiled back at her, when Bella turned to apologize and then introduce herself. "I'm Angela Weber"

Edward waited with Rosalie to find out from his other sister how long the sun would last. It would be nice to find out how long they'd be out of school this time. He heard another voice from across the cafeteria that was thinking about his family. It wasnt one that he had often listened to or that normally thought of them so he listened more, realizing the girl was explaining to the new girl, Bella Swan, about the relationships of their family. The entire school had seemed obsessed with the new girl this morning. It took very little to rile up enthusiasm in Forks. He had a mental picture from Angela of the other girl, realizing she had been staring right at their table. It bothered Edward that he hadn't heard the girl's thoughts as she stared earlier. He brushed it off at first, thinking that since she didnt know their names, he must have just ignored any thoughts coming from her.
Edward then focused his attention on Bella, trying listen to her thoughts, wondering what she thought of his family. Anytime there was someone new to town, it was always good to judge if they had any suspicions. It was his way to help protect their family. But there was nothing. Edward's face tensed slightly in frustration as he sifted through the voices at the table. They were all familiar, none belonged to the new student Bella. Edward decided to look, thinking it would help him focus. But there was nothing at all, just silence.

Bella smiled gratefully back at Angela, wondering if she had finally met someone in this town who seemed normal. That was unfair, she conceeded internally. The others probably were perfectly normal kids, but their attentiveness on her first day was just a little bit scary.
"It's nice to actually be able to introduce myself as myself rather than this 'Isabella' person Charlie has been introducing..." she admitted, extending out that tiny bit of personal information that was required to form a friendship.
However, as the answer to her question posed yet more, her chocolate eyes were drawn once more to the group of vampires on the other table.
"They look like they're related, though, don't they? Sort of."
She considered their identical skin tones and the shadows that she could just about make out from where she sat. She wasn't close enough to see that the colour of their eyes was the same, but even with the sketchy information she had it seemed a little strange. That was probably just her, though. As she scanned over the table her eyes locked with the youngest looking male Cullen and she sucked in her breath a beat quicker than usual. That gaze. What was he trying to do, explode her head from afar? But, wow, he was beautiful. She felt colour steal up her cheeks once more and forced herself to look away as she was dazzled from a distance.
"Are they all the same age?" she asked, feeling marginly guilty that she was so blatantly interested in this strange family, though her interest was too peaked to stop herself.

"I've heard mention of that Isabella person, but its much nicer to be introduced to Bella as well" Angela said with a smile. She would much rather get to know Bella for who she was rather than just listen to the rumors and gossip floating around the school. Her father knew Mr. Swan so she did know about Bella's arrival just like everyone else.
Angela looked back over at the Cullen table as she commented that they looked like they were related. They do have similar features...and the same complexion... She thought to herself before responding. "Yeah, sort of...but 4 of them are dating, Emmett Cullen..the larger one and Rosalie Hale the blond, theyr'e together and so are Jasper, Rosalie's brother, and Alice Cullen" She said, clarifying that they werent all related. They sure do make cute couples. She thought again with a smile. "And their brother is Edward Cullen" She added, just to help Bella with their names.
Angela noticed that Edward was looking over towards their table, obviously interested in looking at the new girl as well. Angela looked down at her food for a moment, not wanting it to look like she was staring at him. She then heard Bella ask about their ages. "Alice and Edward are in our grade, the rest are seniors"

Bella laughed slightly at Angela's initial comment. Yes, she could grow to like this girl, if this girl would give her a chance after her arrival had blown over. She had a good feeling about her, though, she seemed genuine.
Edward Cullen, she rolled the name around her mind, almost testing it out for any future thoughts that she might have about him. It was unusual, a little old fashioned, but it was nice and it suited him perfectly. She shot him what she promised would be a last look, before he started thinking that she was going to start stalking him or something and then turned back to Angela.
"So, what do you guys do for fun around here?" she asked shyly, the commonplace sentence sounding odd coming from her, though she told herself that it was good to socialise - and if she was going to be stuck in a town like Forks, then she might as well take advantage of any nice potential friend she could.

Angela thought about Bella's question for a moment. She had heard that Bell had come from a big city (any other place would seem like a big city when you were from Forks). She was sure that she was used to having many more options to go out that they'd have here. Still she hoped Bella would find something here that she would find enjoyable.
"Well..." Angela hesitated, not wanting to lie to the girl and claim there was an abundance of things to do. "To be honest there's not a whole lot right in Forks. But a lot of us go down to First Beach which is pretty close and hang out there, or Port Angeles is only a short drive. They have a movie theater, and some nice shops and restaurants. Or if you're into more nature stuff, Forks is good for that" She commented.

Bella smiled, wryly, at Angela's response. She had figured something similar - all those holidays she had spent here with Charlie had clued her into the fact the Forks was very much a one-horse town, but every town had its secrets. Well... if there was a town that didn't, then she had probably found it in this rainy little place.
"I guess that would be nice if the sun ever decided to shine around here," she commented, allowing her eyes to wander again as she considered the options that Angela has presented her with. "To be honest I'm not really into hiking or anything like that, or shopping... God, that makes me sound boring!"
She laughed a little, a short burst that carried somewhat over the general babble of the cafeteria. She calmed herself after a moment, for some reason embarrassed at having raised her voice over others - as if they weren't staring at her enough today!
"No, but seriously, it would be nice to have a mini-roadtrip to Port Angeles someday. Well, you know, if you wanted to..."
It suddenly struck her that maybe Angela was just humouring the new girl - there was no sense in getting carried away with this new friendship until she was sure that was what it was. Having said that, she could really see herself caring for this dark-haired girl eventually.

((OOC: I'm experimenting with a color for Angela, is the gold too hard to read?))
Angela laughed as Bella described herself from boring. "You're the most exciting thing to happen to Forks all year if you ask some of these people" Angela smiled. "And I don't think you're boring. I'm not really an outdoorsy person either. Some of them are into all of that, will even go surfing down on the beach, I'd rather sit back inside...although whale watching can be fun down there at the right time of year"
Angela was glad to see Bella laughing. She seemed more relaxed than she had a moment ago and was happy to see this change in her potential friend. Angela's face then lit up with excitement as Bella mentioned a road trip. "Yeah, I'd love to! Anytime you want to go" She said enthusiastic. "And if you dont want to go shopping, or out anywhere, we can even stay in and study together sometime if you want" She offered.
((OOC: decided to change it again, this seems easier to read))

((OOC: It's not that bad, I can read it, just not as easily as the black. Nice color though!))
Alice was listening in to Alice and Bella's conversations. They were going on a road trip. She smiled. She hoped that they would have some fun there. Alice was looking at Edward. His mind was all over the place. His future was in tiny little flickers, flashing all over the place. It was like he wanted to get to know this Bella person a bit more. It looked like he was listening to their conversations too, and also there thoughts. She wondered what they were thinking, that Angela had always seemed like a nice girl. Alice thought that she should say hi to her some time. She picked my apple and stared at it 'Yuck' she thought, and then giggled, and placed it back down again. The bell for the next class would go soon. Which was good, because it was very boring sitting in this place with chatting teenagers. It got a bit repetitive sometimes. But it was interesting litesning to Bella and Angela talking. They seemed.... Interesting, in an odd way. Something was going to happen, but I couldn't decipher what it was yet.
